Perhaps TGIF is a big of a cliche, but after the week I had at work I am glad it's Friday. There once was a point that Friday's weren't that fun because that meant we had two full days of attempting to appease four little ones. As they have got a little older it is definitely more fun to have the weekends off. Not to mention that tonight should be fun because a bunch of guys from the neighborhood are coming over soon to play poker. I haven't played in over a year so I'm looking forward to it. Before kids (also known as BK) I used to host poker games all the time. Maybe we can get to a point where we play once a month or so. Good luck to me...I need money for diapers and formula.
Speaking of formula. Thank God that we no longer have to buy the Similac Alimentum for Carter. That stuff is expensive. Formula is expensive as it is, but this stuff is twice as expensive as regular formula. He needed it though because he used to spit up chunks which meant that he wasn't properly digesting the formula. I guess that's what the Alimentum was supposed to help. I would have to say it worked since he wasn't spitting up chunks when he was on it.
Carter has been using size 3 nipples for a while now, but Aubrey just graduated from size 2 to size 3 last weekend. She is doing really well and it takes less time for her to eat so that's a plus.
I forgot to mention a really funny thing that Calvin did yesterday. He came up to me with his hand out. I wasn't sure what he was doing until he grabbed my hand. Then he shook my hand and said, "nice to meet you dada". I wasn't expecting that. Must be something he learned at daycare. I love it. I also learned that if you say "give me knuckles" to Calvin and Brayden they will make a fist and bump fists like a bunch of college guys or professional athletes. Craziness.
So my wife has finally decided to have her tummy tuck surgery. After the first pregnancy her abs muscles had separated. The second pregnancy finished off her abs and she also developed a hernia. She has wanted the tummy tuck for a while now to repair her ab muscles. She had a number of consultations before finally scheduling the surgery. She'll be going in on Thursday, 10/20. This should make things interesting since she won't be able to lift anything for six weeks. That means I'm going to be one busy dada. I think she'll be out of work for one week and then she'll go back to work half days for a week before returning full time.
Tonight the boys had a great time playing basketball. My sister-in-law and brother-in-law got them a basketball hoop for their birthday. They are really good and slam dunking the basketball, but didn't know how to shoot. I showed them how to shoot from a few feet away and they went at it. They even made a few baskets (which were immediately followed by some "give me knuckles" fist bumps.
We put Calvin and Brayden in bed around 7:15 tonight. 35 minutes later and they are still chatting away in their room. How long will this go on?
Time to get ready for cards.
